Paul Sanders
Leadership Therapeutic Coach
I've spent over 18 years working inside prominent organisations in senior management, in leadership, and latterly as a coach and counsellor. That breadth of experience is what makes my approach different. I've sat in the rooms where the pressure is real, where teams are struggling, and where leaders are expected to perform regardless of what's going on beneath the surface. I understand that world from the inside.
My career has taken me through key roles at organisations including the John Lewis Partnership and Wickes, as well as involvement in start-up initiatives delivering solution-focused therapy for staff and teachers in Dorset schools. I've provided counselling training for students on placement, and delivered live and online presentations for professionals seeking CPD hours and accredited certification. Across all of it, one thing has remained constant: a belief that lasting change only happens when you address the root cause, not just the symptom.
My approach: Therapeutic Coaching
Most coaches focus on goals and strategy. Most therapists focus on the past and emotional processing. I do both, and that's not something you'll find everywhere.
Through therapeutic coaching, I integrate psychotherapy techniques directly into the coaching process. This means we can work through any mental or emotional blocks that are holding you back at the same time as making real progress toward your goals. You don't need to see a therapist separately and a coach separately. The two approaches work together, and the results go deeper because of it.
Whether you're a senior leader navigating a career transition, a team that's lost its cohesion, or an individual feeling stuck, I create a supportive, non-judgmental space where you can explore what's really going on and build the clarity, resilience, and self-awareness to move forward with confidence.
Why I do this work
I believe in the remarkable adaptability of people. Given the right support, the right tools, and a space to think clearly, people consistently surprise themselves. My role isn't to tell you what to do, it's to help you see what you're already capable of, and remove whatever's been getting in the way.
If you're ready to have that conversation, I'd love to hear from you.
