Samantha Blackmore

Humanistic Counsellor | Neurodivergent-Affirming Practitioner

Sam is a qualified counsellor and neuro-informed practitioner, bringing a responsive, client-led approach shaped by a genuine understanding of neurodivergent experience, rather than a generic framework applied to every client.

For autistic, AuDHD, and neurodivergent clients, sessions don't start with having to explain or justify how you experience the world. Sam already understands the toll of masking, the impact of sensory and social demands, and how burnout often builds from an accumulation of small everyday stressors rather than one big event.

Sessions are shaped around what actually works for the client. This might mean adjusting lighting, allowing movement or stimming, communicating in writing as well as speaking, or simply not expecting eye contact. Sam treats shutdowns and burnout as something to take seriously, not to pathologise.

Sam holds a diploma in Autism and Mental Health and works in a neurodiversity-affirming way with autistic and AuDHD clients, whether formally diagnosed or not. Her approach is grounded in understanding rather than correction, creating a space where clients can be themselves and explore what's really going on without translating their experience for someone else's comfort.

Sam is currently able to see clients remotely or on site.
